iPass- Toll Integration

Written by Irina Ignatiuc

How do I set up the iPass toll integration?

iPass is a toll tracking integration that allows you to upload and manage toll transactions for your fleet. This is a manual import process using CSV files from your iPass account.

Who should do this? Office managers or administrators with access to integration settings and asset management. Complete this setup after your trucks and trailers have been added to Alvys.

Configure the iPass integration in Alvys

Navigate to the Management page and select the subsidiary you wish to integrate with iPass. Find and click the blue Integrate button.

Scroll down to find the Tolls section and select iPass from the list of integrations. Select all applicable subsidiaries that will use iPass for toll tracking, then click the blue Save button to save your changes.

Add transponder IDs to your trucks

For toll data to be properly attributed to your assets, you need to associate each iPass transponder with its corresponding truck in Alvys.

From the blue toolbar on the left, navigate to Assets and select Trucks. Find and select the truck that corresponds with the transponder you want to add.

Scroll down to the Pass Details section. Select whether or not to deduct tolls, then choose iPass in the Issued By field. Add the transponder ID in the Pass Number field and click Add Pass.

Repeat this process for all trucks that use iPass transponders.

Upload toll reports

Once your integration is configured and transponders are assigned, you can upload toll transaction data from iPass.

First, download a CSV file of your iPass toll data from your iPass account. Then, from the blue Alvys toolbar on the left, select Reports and navigate to the Toll Report page.

Locate and click the blue upload button to add your iPass toll report. In the pop-up window that appears, add the file to be uploaded. Once the file is uploaded successfully, you're all done.

Frequently asked questions

Is the iPass integration automatic or manual?

The iPass integration is manual. You need to download CSV files from your iPass account and upload them to Alvys periodically.

How often should I upload toll reports?

This depends on your business needs. Many companies upload weekly or monthly to keep toll data current for accounting and driver settlements.

What happens if I upload the same toll transactions twice?

Alvys recognizes duplicate transactions and won't import them again, so there's no risk of duplicate toll charges.

Can I add transponder IDs to trailers as well?

Yes, while transponders are typically mounted on trucks, you can add pass details to any asset type in Alvys if needed.
