Overview
Connect your DAT account to Alvys and start posting loads directly from your TMS. This integration lets you reach carriers on one of the industry's largest load boards without leaving Alvys, whether you're posting manually or setting up automatic syncing.
Request Your DAT Credentials
Before you can connect DAT to Alvys, you'll need integration credentials from DAT. Reach out to their technical support team at [email protected] and include the following details as they appear in your DAT account:
Your company name, main contact name and phone number, and a unique identifier like your MC number or address. Let them know you're looking to use the REST API. You'll also need to provide a service account email—this is a special email address used specifically for the integration. If you don't have one yet, DAT recommends creating a new email account that isn't already registered with them.
Once DAT confirms your credentials are ready, you can move on to the setup in Alvys.
Connect DAT in Alvys
Head over to the Integrations section by clicking the person icon in the bottom left corner of Alvys and selecting Integrations. Choose the subsidiary you're setting this up for and look for the Loadboard section. Click on the DAT card to start configuring the integration.
Enter your service account email—the one DAT set up for your integration. Add your username, which is another email under your DAT account that will be used to post loads. Include your service account password from DAT. Finally, set a default posting email that will appear in the comments on your posted loads. This can be the same as your username if you'd like. Once everything is entered, hit save to apply your settings.
Post Loads to DAT
Once your integration is set up, you have two ways to get loads onto the DAT loadboard. If auto-sync is enabled, loads will automatically post to DAT every 5 minutes.
You can also manually post a load at any time from the load details page using the "Post Shipment" button. This works regardless of whether auto-sync is turned on or off.
After posting, the load will be marked as "Posted To: DAT" and display the DAT icon on your load board.
⚠️ Make sure the DAT User permission is enabled for any users who need to post loads. Without this permission, they won't see the option to post.
