Orbcomm Cargowatch is a telematics solution that provides real-time tracking for trucks and trailers. This integration allows Alvys to automatically pull location data from your Orbcomm-equipped assets, giving you live visibility on the Asset Map and in dispatch planning.
To get started, you'll need XML credentials from Orbcomm, then configure the integration in Alvys and map your assets.
Getting your Orbcomm Cargowatch credentials
Before you can connect Orbcomm Cargowatch to Alvys, you'll need to request XML credentials from Orbcomm support.
Contact Orbcomm at [email protected] and request XML credentials. They'll provide you with a Username and Password. Keep these credentials handy for the next step.
Setting up the integration in Alvys
Once you have your credentials, you're ready to configure Orbcomm Cargowatch in Alvys.
Navigate to Company Profile by clicking your profile icon in the lower left corner, then select the subsidiary you want to configure and click the Integrations tab.
Expand the ELD section and click the pencil icon on the Orbcomm Cargowatch card.

Enter your Orbcomm Cargowatch XML Username and Password, then click Save.

Alvys will validate your credentials. If everything looks good, the integration will be active.
Mapping assets for location tracking
Now that the integration is configured, you need to tell Alvys which Orbcomm Unit ID and Gateway ID correspond to each truck or trailer.
Go to Assets in the left menu and select Trucks or Trailers.

Double-click the asset you want to configure, then scroll down to the ELD Integrations section and click Add Integration.
Select Orbcomm from the dropdown, enter the Orbcomm Unit # in the Integration ID field and the Gateway ID in the Gateway ID field, then click Save.

Repeat this process for each truck or trailer you want to track with Orbcomm Cargowatch.
