ℹ️ As of February 25, 2025, we've introduced two key updates to ELD integrations. First, we now validate credentials before saving, so you'll instantly know if they're incorrect. Second, the integration card UI has been revamped for clearer status indicators and a more streamlined deactivation process.

Overview

The GeoTab integration connects your ELD and telematics data to Alvys, enabling location tracking for trucks and trailers, Hours of Service monitoring for drivers, and IFTA mileage reporting. Setting up the integration requires an existing GeoTab account with the same username and password you use to log into the GeoTab portal.

Set Up the Integration

Navigate to the Management page by clicking the profile icon in the left lower corner, then select Integrations.

This will open a dialog box where you'll be prompted to enter your GeoTab Username and Password. Once those have been entered, click the Save button.

Enable Location Tracking for Assets

Find the Assets option on the blue Alvys toolbar and select either trucks or trailers based on which assets you need to set up.

Select the driver and copy the asset ID (only the portion that comes after "id:") from the URL.

The Hours of Service feature can be accessed from the Dispatch planner page and the Load Details Page by selecting the time displayed for the driver.

IFTA Mileage

If a truck has their GeoTab asset ID associated, you can choose their respective ELD as the source for IFTA miles. The beginning and end of the quarter are determined based on the Subsidiary physical address timezone.

For example, if the subsidiary has a physical address where Pacific Time with Daylight Savings is observed, miles will be requested from GeoTab with the respective offset for each quarter.
