BestPass is a toll tracking integration that automatically imports toll transactions for your assets.

BestPass has migrated from their legacy SOAP API to a new REST API, which requires a different setup process.

Navigate to the Management section by clicking on your profile in the upper left corner, then select the Integrations tab from the top menu.

Go to the Tolls section and click the pencil icon next to BestPass new. Follow the links provided in the description to navigate to the BestPass portal where you'll add [email protected] as a contact on your account.

Once you've added [email protected] as a contact in your BestPass account, return to Alvys and enter your BestPass Account ID in the integration settings. Select which subsidiaries you want this integration to apply to, then click Save at the bottom.

For the integration to work, you need to link each BestPass transponder to its corresponding truck in Alvys.

From the blue toolbar on the left, navigate to Assets and select Trucks. Find and select the truck that corresponds with the transponder you want to add.

Scroll down to the Pass Details section. Select whether or not to deduct tolls, then choose BestPass new in the Issued By field. Add the transponder ID in the Pass Number field and click Add Pass.

Repeat this process for all trucks that use BestPass transponders. The integration automatically updates toll data nightly via API.

Once the integration is active and transponders are assigned, you can view toll data in your reports.

From the Alvys toolbar, select Reports and navigate to the Toll Report. Enter your search criteria (at least one parameter is required) and click Search to see tolls for specific assets over a given time period.

What's the difference between BestPass and BestPass new?

BestPass new uses the updated REST API, which is the current supported version. The legacy SOAP API integration (labeled simply as BestPass) is being phased out.

Why do I need to add [email protected] to my BestPass account?

This email address allows Alvys to authenticate and access your toll data through the new REST API. It's required for the integration to function.

How often does toll data update in Alvys?

The integration automatically updates toll data nightly via API, so you'll see new toll transactions appear the next day.

Do I need to add transponder IDs for trailers?

Transponder IDs are typically associated with trucks since that's where the transponder device is mounted. However, you can add pass details to any asset type if needed.
