TFM is an electronic logging device solution that tracks driver hours of service and vehicle locations. This integration allows Alvys to pull real-time location data from your TFM-equipped trucks and trailers, giving you visibility on the Asset Map and in dispatch planning.

To get started, you'll generate an API token from your TFM account, then configure the integration in Alvys and map your assets.

Generating your TFM API token

Before you can connect TFM to Alvys, you'll need to generate an API token from within your TFM account.

Log into your TFM account and navigate to Management → API Tokens.

Click Generate Token.

The page will refresh and display your new integration token. Copy this token for the next step.

Setting up the integration in Alvys

Once you have your API token, you're ready to configure TFM in Alvys.

Navigate to Company Profile by clicking your profile icon in the lower left corner, then select the subsidiary you want to configure and click the Integrations tab.

Expand the ELD section and click the pencil icon on the TFM card.

Enter your TFM API Token and click Save.

Alvys will validate your credentials. If everything looks good, the integration will be active.

Mapping assets for location tracking

Now that the integration is configured, you need to tell Alvys which TFM asset ID corresponds to each truck or trailer.

Go to Assets in the left menu and select Trucks or Trailers.

Double-click the asset you want to configure, then scroll down to the ELD Integrations section and click Add Integration.

Select TFM from the dropdown.

To find your TFM asset ID, open the asset in your TFM platform and look at the URL. For example, if the URL is app.tfmeld.com/client/trucks/25236, the asset ID is 25236.

Enter the asset ID in the Integration ID field and click Save.

Repeat this process for each truck or trailer you want to track with TFM.

FAQ

Where do I find my TFM asset IDs?

The easiest way is to look at the URL when viewing or editing an asset in your TFM platform. The ID is the number in the URL path.

Can I track both trucks and trailers?

Yes, you can configure TFM tracking for both trucks and trailers by adding the integration to each asset type.

What happens if I enter invalid credentials?

As of February 2025, Alvys validates credentials before saving, so you'll see an error immediately if your API token is incorrect.
